1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Forks mobile application (“App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Forks is a restaurant bill-splitting application that allows users to scan receipts, assign items to individuals, calculate proportional shares including tax and tip, and facilitate payment coordination. The App is provided as-is for personal, non-commercial use.

3. License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on any Apple device that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple App Store Terms of Service.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Forks offers a free tier and a premium subscription (“Forks Pro”).

• Subscriptions are billed through Apple's In-App Purchase mechanism and are managed by your Apple ID account.
• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same rate.
• You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your Account Settings on the App Store after purchase.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App.
• Use the App to transmit any harmful, offensive, or objectionable content.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its related systems.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its content, features, and functionality, is owned by Forks and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our prior written consent.

7. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted or error-free.
• Receipt scanning results will be 100% accurate. Always verify scanned amounts.
• The App will be compatible with all devices or operating system versions.

Forks is a bill-splitting tool and does not provide financial advice. We are not responsible for any payment disputes between users.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Forks shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the App.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the App. Your continued use of the App following the posting of revised Terms means you accept and agree to the changes.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
